R32

I went car shopping today since I am thinking of trading in my beemer. I first passed by the VW/Audi/Lamborghini dealer to check out the Golf GTI. Sadly they haven't received it yet and won't be getting it till the end of the year. So I decided to see what Audi had to offer. Turns out they just received 5 pieces of the all new 2006 Audi A4. A great looking car but at KD10,500 for a 2 liter 4-cylinder engine that pumps out 130HP, the price seemed like too much for too little. I am not really looking for a fast car but I am looking for something to at-least feel as fast as my current car. While there though I figured I would take advantage and ask about the Lamborghini's. I found out that the local dealer had a target to sell 12 baby Lamborghini this year but they sold 38! Unbelievable, only in Kuwait thats for sure. Each baby Lambo goes for around KD55,000 by the way. While I was in the back I spotted this poor VW Golf R32 which I took a picture of. I love Golf's since my first car was a Golf and this R32 is probably one of the coolest and fastest Golf's ever and seeing it totally destroyed like this was very sad. An interesting fact since we are talking about the R32, the kid Malcom from the show Malcom in the Middle just recently sold his R32 on eBay. When done with this dealer me and Nat went to Nissan to check out the 350ZX. I found it to be an OK car. I mean for KD10,500 you get a 294HP sports car which is really cool, but the interior is pretty dull and the car as a whole I just didn't bond with. I didn't get the wow I want this car feeling, but I can't say the same about Nat. She REALLY wants me to get the 350zx, like REALLY wants me to get it. She's gone all psycho on me now! Our final stop after Nissan was the Honda showroom. I wanted to check out the S2000 roadster. Its a really nice car, I love the interior, its so very racing like and its also a convertible BUT, the car costs KD12,500! I think its overpriced and the dealer doesn't look reliable. Anyway, I am gonna start reading up on the 350ZX, maybe will try to take it for a test drive just so I can get the feel of it. If it turns out to be a cool ride I might go for it although I was hoping my new car wouldn't be a coupe..

Why don't you swing by Subaru and Mitsubishi. The Evo and the Impreza both look good, drive fast, and fall near the 10,500 mark.

quick advice from someone who has driven both cars for longer than one month.
S2000 rocks and you can feel the engine giving a brilliant response at high rpms. Red line starts at 9000. the car feels like its gonna stop at less than 4000 rpm. great feeling. downs: zero control on water. the car lacks traction control and does loads of understeer and oversteer.
Z350: great car, great looks, lovely engine. downs: not as slick as it looks and not typically fun around corners. its got a pumped up engine and not a racing engine. feels like an imitation to a corvette.
Options: Evo 8, used carrera, used boxter-s, used m3, subbaro wrx or a mazda rx-8 or mx-5.
